We bought this place in June 2003. The house was built in 1976, and it still has the long rooflines and big windows that drew us to it in the first place. On a clear evening the Olympics line up across the western horizon.

Over the years we've rebuilt most of what you see: the kitchen, the deck, the roof, the floors. We put in a new septic system sized for five bedrooms. The barn and the pasture beyond it set the pace of the place, and from the house you can see neighbors' horses grazing on the next hills over.

[A favorite memory or two: a family gathering, a snow day, what the property was like when the boys were young.]

Over the coming months we'll post here about the seasons on the hill, the projects we've done, and the corners of the property that photos don't capture.
